The tech spec for our project was really simple.
All we needed was: 2 SM58’s, 2 Mic stands, Sustain Pedal, guitar amp.
We ended up not using the drum machine, as it ended up not fitting the sound we were going for. We couldn’t really control the dynamics of it. Instead of that, Haydn programmed the percussion on his MacBook, and we hooked that up to the PA to get that playing through the speakers. This also eliminated a lot of human error that could have happened. As we had an A beat and a B beat for the different sections, and someone would have had to press the button each time. This could have caused timing issues. So programming it fully got rid of the timing issues.
In this week as well, we decided that we wanted an intensive session on what to do with the song. So we all sat in our classroom, and tracked down what we were doing into a logic session so we had a full, mapped out idea of what we were doing. Here’s a video clip from this session:
